So long, farewell.

For all the excitement we’ve had over the past month or two, we’ve also had a big decision to make and sadly that decision has resulted in the end of Worn In Scotland.

Both Cheryl and I have found ourselves sucked into full time work and sadly neither of us have the time to dedicate to this project which has so many possibilities that it has run away with itself. We’re sad to have to make this the end of something we worked so hard on in the beginning, but we can’t give it the effort it now needs and deserves.

We’re both taking away a shed-load of knowledge and experience. Cheryl wrote a flawless business plan that ended up being longer than her dissertation, I finally lived out my dream of buying for a living and we both managed to create a company which we are both extremely proud of.

We want to thank you all for following this blog and buying from us from the very beginning, we couldn’t believe how popular this concept was so quickly and we hope that any other up and coming Scottish vintage companies have better luck getting started and keeping it up.

So finally, thank you for sticking by us and we truly appreciate every bit of help we’ve had from relatives, friends and friends of friends.

Thank you to Kirstie for helping us sort out our marketing proposals and being so enthusiastic about the entire idea. We wish you all the luck in retail marketing in the world, you deserve it.

Thank you to Emma and Anna, my lovely assistants who joined us to gain some experience and have ended up teaching me a lot more than they realise.

Thank you to Maxine for taking a big pile of ‘80’s nonsense’ and turning it into wearable and sale-able items. Thanks for putting up with our requests for playsuits out of difficult shapes and making the most adorable cushions which sold like hot cakes. Thank you also to Maxine’s lovely assistant Kirsty, who blew Cheryl away with her creativity and enthusisasm and has been a great part of the WIS team since.

Thank you to Rachael for being our face and our inspiration for selling clothes which fit every body shape. As she always says, ‘You wear a 12, you’re not a 12’. Thanks for being absolutely stunning in everything and also for rolling up your sleeves at events/driving us everywhere in your time machine.

Thank you to Emma, Clare, Lisa, Michelle and Rina for being the best models a company could ask for. You all have an amazing ability to put something on and make it look incredible and we appreciate you letting us use your beautiful faces.

Thank you to Nanny Helen and Lady White for donating a spectacular collection of vintage gems and letting us raid your lofts.

Thank you to Pete and Laurence for putting up with your respective houses smelling like charity shops, your livingrooms full of brown paper and half dressed girls and your cars full of old fur coats. We appreciate your support more than you realise.

Look out for new projects from certainly myself, if not both of us in the near future. You never know, WIS could be born again from the ashes…

It’s like Christmas here at Worn In Scotland. I’ve been wrapping all night.
Guess who’s wrapped? Wrapped in brown? Vintage’s wrapped. Tell a friend…
Hate myself.

One of my awesome assistants Anna has made these illustrations for us. Here’s Clare wearing our horsey horserson waistcoat with our little brown leather satchel. You can buy the real thing here, but meanwhile, enjoy the drawings!
